Things have been tiring lately. Somewhat. However, it's always great to boop onto deviantart to see more amazing Ib fanart. It's all gorgeous, and there's not a lot of reposting as of later (which is great, because reposting's a jerk thing to do).

Tagged (by request) by: dragongirl19.deviantart.com/

Rules:
1. You must post the rules.
2. Each person must post 5 things about themselves in their journal
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and create eleven new questions for the people you tag to answer.
4. You have to choose 11 people to tag and post their icons on your journal.
5. Go to their page and tell them you have tagged them.
6. No tag backs
7. No stuff in the tagging section about "you're tagged if you're reading this". You legitimately have to tag 11 people.

Midnight's note: I'm not sure if I know 11 people to tag, so just do it if you feel like it.

5 Things about Me:

I'm a talented writer.
I love Sherlock Holmes.
The most recent movie I've seen is The Lorax.
I've filled over 8 spirals with my writings.
I'm on DA every day, but until I get a scanner or a tablet, I can't do much.

dragongirl19.deviantart.com/ 's Questions:

1. What do you think of the shows that are currently running on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel?

I think they're all a bunch of crap (with the exceptions being Adventure Time & Gravity Falls). I grew up loving Courage the Cowardly Dog, Edd Ed n' Eddy, Dexter's Laboratory, Kids Next Door, Powerpuff Girls, and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy on Cartoon Network. On Disney Channel, I remember watching Kim Possible, That's So Raven, Lizzie McGuire, the Proud Family, and listening to Ali and Aj rock out. I wasn't really a Nick kid, but I do remember loving As Told By Ginger and a bit of the Rugrats. Yeah, all of these shows were crazy as heck most of the time, but it helped me learn how to find heartwarming stuff within weirdness. The crap they show today has no character development, no real point, and just teaches kids how to be obnoxious and selfish.

2. What would be your favorite song?

Curse this question. I never have a definite answer. It comes and goes depending on my mood or how much mature I've gotten over time. At this point in time, it would have to be Dig by Incubus. (It never gets old and I still love it after all these years).

3. What's your birth month gem stone?

Amethyst.

4. What's your favorite animal? (DragonGirl19's is a dragon)

Cheetah.

5. What's your favorite movie? Your least favorite movie?

My favorite movie is a 3-way tie between Memoirs of a Geisha, Coraline, and V for Vendetta.
My least favorite movie is anything that Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer (aka Epic Movie, Date Movie, Disaster Movie, Vampire Suck, etc.,) Everything they make is utter TRASH and WHY doesn't someone revoke their directing licences?! They have the AUDACITY to put "written by" in the credits!

6. What's the one thing that makes you ashamed?

The thing that makes me ashamed... Well, this is a bit personal, but it's the first thing that comes to mind. One day, when I was still a little kid, my mom and I fought so freaking much one day that it made me upset enough to forget that that day was my dad's birthday, and I thus forgot to wish him a happy one. I think they may have forgotten or explained to each other what happened, but I'm still ashamed of that.

7. What do you think of the double standards in TV shows? (i.e. Women hitting men without repercussions, men being idiots and women being more intelligent)

Well, there are double-standards in real life, too, so I guess it's a bit accurate. It still shouldn't be played for laughs though like it usually is. Abuse is abuse no matter the gender of the recipient, and intelligence is a broad spectrum you can't generalize (though that won't stop the schools from trying to). But I hate general stereotyping more. For example, if I guy tells me to "stay in the kitchen," I will proceed to smack his head in with a frying pan and tell him to go make his own sandwich. Or punch him and clarify it's a knuckle-sandwich.

8. What is your favorite story genre?

I love detective/mystery novels. But I love historical fiction with all the details and stuff. Basically, writing that shows the author has done their freaking RESEARCH. Even in fiction. What was popular back then? What were the speech patterns? The etiquette? The average prices and wages? The more you know the little facts, the more realistic your overall setting is. Plus, every story HAS to have character development. My pet peeve is when someone doesn't do the research and/or makes their character go nowhere.

9. What do you like more, anime or western cartoons?

I like both pretty much equally. I go for quality of characters, story, setting, and overall awesomeness rather than its source. My fav anime is a tie between Durarara and Clannad: After Story. My fav western cartoons are Avatar:The Last Airbender and probably...Teen Titans. Though... that said, Wolf's Rain... it's depressing but wonderful so it may be my favorite in terms of overall. Guess Durarara and Clannad: After Story are fighting for 2nd place, then.

10. Who's your favorite character from any series?

Well, I can't list everyone, so I'll go with the main ones. Sherlock {BBC Sherlock}, Clementine {TWDG}, Minerva McGonagall and/or Luna Lovegood {Harry Potter}, C.C. {Code Geass}, Shizuo {Durarara}, Tomoya Okazaki {Clannad: After Story}, V {V for Vendetta}, Raven {Teen Titans}, Courage {Courage the Cowardly Dog} and many, many more.

11. Finally, what do you think of my art? (just wondering, since not too many people critique my stuff)

Well, I think your stuff is just beast, Ammi (lol, beast). Your art style is so unique and wonderful. I envy your use of color like crazy (I do best it seems in black and white). Your dragons are so diverse and real (makes me think you could be the designer for the next How to Train Your Dragon). They look realistic and regal and powerful and it's overall awesome. Plus, I still have that Twice-ler (aka Greed-ler) you gave me: It now sits in a frame above my desk. Makes me smile every time I look up at it.

Gah, I talk too much. Hehehe.....

Sherlockian Zen

1 min read
For those who are unaware, I happen to be a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. I'm in a very Sherlockian mood (as you can probably tell by my webcam). My favorite adaptation of the books is the Granada Series, which I am very grateful to have the complete DVD collection of. I've also recently gotten into what is now my second-favorite adaptation: the new BBC version starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes. Sadly, they only have season one of BBC out on DVD. I can't wait till they release the second one on DVD. Until then, thank goodness for online viewing. Anyway, just felt like sharing the Holmes spirit with everyone, especially the artists whose Holmes fanart I have recently been favoriting with gusto.

Keep spreading the Holmes love! It lasts through generations for a reason!

Well, it's happened. I finally decided it was time to start getting into the Christmas Spirit, and I'm now watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas (live action) for the third time in a row (with no regrets once so ever). I have a sudden urge to write a small fanfic... I might just do that once I publish this journal and sign out. You know what, I think I will. ^_^

With that said, hope everyone who follows me, or whom I follow, has warm Christmas feelings sent their way. I'm in such a good mood right now, it's like MY heart's over-swelling by 3 sizes! XD Anyways, merry Yuletide feelings to all, and to all a good who-snack!
